After making a ‘sea
change’ to Tropical North Queensland and falling in love with the
lifestyle in paradise, it seemed natural to re-establish myself in
business here and promote first and foremost the wonderful produce from
local ‘food heroes’. I am constantly sourcing new products from boutique
manufacturers here and from the major food production centres in
regional Australia. Luscious honey and hand-made fudge from Tasmania,
olives, tapenades and dukkahs from the Hunter Valley, jams and preserves
from neighbouring Townsville, honey roasted nuts from the Sunshine Coast
hinterland. The Yarra Valley in Victoria and Margaret River district in
W.A. are also major sources of products for my gourmet hampers.
